Many guests ask what to expect before departure and what it is like aboard one of our Zodiac vessels. From check-in to cruising the coastline, here’s everything you need to know before your adventure begins.
Storage & Gear
Your adventure starts at our Granville Island departure location, where our wonderful Guest Services team will check you in and help prepare you for an unforgettable day on the water. As our Zodiac vessels are open-air boats that bring you close to the sights, sounds, and sea spray of the coast, we provide secure lockers at check-in for any items you would prefer to leave behind. This allows you to relax and fully enjoy the adventure without worrying about your belongings.
Before boarding, our team will outfit you with a specialized full-length anti-exposure suit. This high-performance gear serves as your personal flotation device while also protecting you from wind, cool temperatures, and sea spray. The result is a comfortable ride that keeps you warm, dry, and ready to enjoy every moment of your adventure.

Our Zodiac Vessels
Sea Vancouver operates custom-built, 30-foot rigid-hull inflatable Zodiac boats designed specifically for sightseeing and adventure on the water. With seating for up to 12 passengers, each tour offers a personal, intimate experience without the crowds.
One of the most exciting features of a Zodiac is its low-profile design. Sitting close to the water’s surface, you’ll feel connected to the marine environment in a way that larger vessels simply cannot match. The occasional splash of sea spray only adds to the excitement.

Because the boats are completely open-air, there are no windows or barriers between you and the scenery. You’ll enjoy unobstructed views of Vancouver’s stunning coastline, iconic landmarks, and local wildlife, making it easy to fully immerse yourself in the experience.
Pre-Departure Safety Briefing
Before we set off, your skipper will lead a brief safety orientation. During this presentation, you’ll learn how the vessel operates, the best seating positions for comfort and stability, and how to properly use your equipment. Our team will also ensure your suit is fitted correctly and answer any questions you may have before departure.
