Located just past Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver, Whytecliff Park is one of the most stunning coastal destinations in British Columbia. The park offers dramatic granite cliffs, views of Howe Sound, and a front-row seat to wild coastal nature. It is an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts and sightseers looking to explore the rugged Pacific shoreline.
A Historic Marine Haven
Established in 1993 as Canada’s very first Marine Protected Area, Whytecliff Park is a major milestone for local conservation. Banning all fishing and marine harvesting created a safe sanctuary where underwater ecosystems could fully recover. Today, cruising along its protected shoreline allows us to showcase a thriving coastal environment that looks much like it did centuries ago!

A Thriving Wildlife Habitat
Below the surface, the park drops into deep, cold ocean waters. It is world-renowned among scuba divers who explore vibrant kelp forests, giant Pacific octopuses, wolf eels, and ancient glass sponge reefs. Along the shoreline, tide pools brim with colourful starfish, giant sea anemones, and crabs.

A Haven for Harbour Seals and Marine Wildlife
Because the park is a fully protected sanctuary, it has become a favorite spot for local wildlife. Curious harbour seals are a constant highlight on our sightseeing tours. You will frequently spot them popping their heads above the waves to inspect our boat or lounging on the sunny rocks near Whyte Islet. Looking up toward the sky, bald eagles often perch atop the towering Douglas firs along the cliffs while seabirds dive for fish nearby.

Sweeping Views of Howe Sound
As we navigate past the park, you can look out across the glacial fjord of Howe Sound toward Bowen Island and the surrounding coastal mountains. Looking up at the massive granite bluffs from the waterline gives you an incredible sense of scale that you simply cannot get from land.
